When it comes to organizing, every company has its own philosophy, process, and rates. Some organizing companies offer hourly services, bundle rates, or package deals. Each approach has its benefits but through our many years of expertise, we’ve narrowed it down and found the best way to serve our clients was a different method.
Here at Swoon Spaces, we offer day rates to help our clients get the most out of our services. In this blog, we’ll dive into what a day rate is, what is included in the Swoon Spaces’ day rate, and all the benefits you’ll reap when you work with us ;)
1. Swoon Operates on a day rate model. What exactly is a day rate?
A day rate is the total cost for an individual or company’s services for one day. For organizing, this means that you’ll pay a flat rate for our organizing services with no need to worry about the time spent or any extras. There’s a lot that goes into organizing and with a day rate with Swoon, you won’t have to worry about nickel and diming!

2. What sorts of tasks are included in a day of organizing and how much time do they typically take?
As we said, there a lot of nitty gritty details that are involved in transforming someone’s space completely and we don’t want to cut any corners or leave any detail unfinished! That means there’s a lot of work that happens outside of your home and behind the scenes that takes time and effort! Here are just a few examples:
The time and work spent on-site organizing your spaces to perfection (~ 6 hrs each day)
The time spent hauling any donations or items to discard (~ approx. 1 hr each day)
Preparing a customized wishlist for organizing products that will create functional, streamlined systems that work perfectly with the aesthetics of your home (~ approx. 2-6 hrs /project)
Placing orders for products and coordinating deliveries to your door (~ approx. 1-2 hrs /project)
Shopping or picking up any product orders and handling any returns (~ approx.1-3 hrs /project)
All the time these tasks take up are included in the Swoon Spaces day rate! That means you won’t be billed additionally for these hours and can rest easy that you know exactly what you are paying for!
3. What are a few unexpected things that might get in the way of completing a project in a timely manner?
(These are items you won’t have to worry about with a day rate!)
Occasionally, the products we hope to use on a project may be out of stock. This requires us to change our strategy, choose different products, and potentially source from another store location or vendor.
For our NYC teams, we utilize Uber to transport product to/from The Container Store and other vendors. It takes more time than you think to load up a car with a bag and boxes full of bins!
Long lines! Believe it or not, The Container Store is a popular place! Sometimes we spend more time waiting in line to check out than we do filling up our carts.
If a product we purchase is damaged or delayed, we work with customer services to find a solution! Whether that means speaking on the phone, being placed on hold, or connecting from agent to agent, we make sure everything gets handled.
